For many 2020 has forced us to work in a new way and conduct our meetings differently. Digital tools enabling virtual meetings has suddenly become the new norm. We are used to seeing our customers and colleagues sitting in their home offices, wearing casual clothes; we may have even been introduced to their pets or children, and yet business has continued seamlessly. This is proof we can adapt and change. At Polymermarketplace we also had to learn how to attend online conferences and meetings to ensure we remain visible, stay on top of industry trends and maintain an engaged network.

We want to share our activity over the past couple of months, as well as some exciting updates with what has been going on behind the scenes.

Circular Economy and Sustainability is a trending topic. Over the last six months, our team has been busy developing a state-of-the-art digital platform especially designed for the Circular Economy. The goal of the platform is to reduce the present gap between supply and demand, which will serve the entire chain of custody; from municipality waste collectors to retailers and brand owners. We have also ensured the platform will be enabled not only for plastics, but also to serve metal, glass, textiles, and forestry origin circular materials. This new platform will truly enable the full circle of buying and selling of any certified circular material using blockchain technology. As always, we work with experts in the Circular and Sustainability arena to ensure we deliver a relevant, easy-to-use and value-adding digital platform into market. Stay tuned! More news will follow shortly. This new platform is not replacing the Polymermarket platform.

Just like everyone else, we were forced to change our entire 2020 travel plans. Due to the current circumstances, instead of attending several conferences, we decided to embark on a new virtual path to bring Polymermarketplace digital transformation messages to the market. We were asked by IHS Markit to prepare a video presentation about Polymermarketplace and how digitalization helps deliver results. This video will be presented at Global Plastics Summit (GPS 2020).

Even more exciting news comes from North America, where we are proud to present our first American client Pinnacle Polymers of Beaulieu International Group. They have taken the step and converted to digital sales. Contrary to European or Export sales, USA works with a variable of monomer+ pricing to determine the pricing for the following month. Our technology is successfully able to deliver a solution for the region, and we see solid activity from customers in North America.

Last but certainly not least, Leila was interviewed by a prestigious industry periodical, Chemical Weekly, on her views of the industry, digitalization and the ongoing megatrends in this sector. We will be sharing the featured articles and videos with you soon.

Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay connected.
